Honda Performance Development
The project consisted of improvements to an existing industrial building for the division that produces Honda Indy Series Race Car engines. The new specialized use required significant modifications to the existing structure including office and support areas, machine and assembly shops, labs, R&D, and warehousing. Architectural and engineering solutions were necessary to accommodate program requirements: reinforce the roof structure to accommodate a new air conditioning system, design and construct three new mezzanine structures, provide engine assembly areas and test labs and environmental controls and convert manufacturing space to attractive, functional office space. A fast-track schedule was developed and split the project into multiple permits to accommodate the challenging occupancy deadline.
