Ganahl Lumber – San Juan Capistrano
The design for Ganahl Lumber San Juan Capistrano incorporates the company’s history and expertise in wood products into a modern aesthetic. Located on a 17-acre site near San Juan Capistrano and Dana Point, this 145,000-square-foot facility optimizes operational efficiency and customer experience while addressing site challenges.
We drew upon our previous work with Ganahl to organize 15 structures on the site, including a retail store, drive-through lumber yard, and operations facility, along with supporting buildings. This layout minimizes disruptions to nearby residences and enhances site functionality.
The retail store’s design pays homage to the region’s architectural heritage with weathered cedar siding and exposed joinery, both inside and out. It features wood trusses and laminated timber roofing panels crafted by Ganahl, creating a cohesive and sustainable space for customers and employees.
